Review of TDS Cattery. 12.26.2022

After looking for a kitty for 4 months, my sister sent me a photo of the Scottish Fold kitties from TDS, Terra D’oro Santo Cattery and it was love at first sight for me.

I had had Scottish Folds in the past and was very familiar with their loving and playful dispositions:-). The breeders were leaving soon to go to Europe to expand their cattery and I was aware of another buyer on the horizon so I needed to make a decision quickly. I found myself on a plane from LA to Charlotte in 3 days to pick up Amaretta:-).

As Lana ( Mother ) and Alena ( daughter ) have said, “ if you are looking for gold “ ...and I would add ...I found it, as she is a Golden Chinchilla Scottish Fold and truly Golden.

My Vet has said that “she is perfect in every way.’’

Lana and Alena provided any and all information that I would need to care for Amaretta as they had done in their home to include her nutrition plan, supplements, toys, health plan with dates, and basically a “how to” on everything I could think of. So incredibly through and heads and shoulders above the previous breeders I had used that I could tell from Amaretta's loving nature right from the beginning, her playfulness and wonderful disposition that she was very loved and well taken care of in their home. They are truly the Best of Breeders!

Many thanks to Lana for her help with my kitten. I really needed any advice at that time, because I had never encountered such a thing and did not find out at all what and how to do it right in order to save the life of my fur baby. Deciding that no one but people who are completely understand cats health, treatment and care, can help me. I asked many breeders but every one was silent. However, I was so lucky to find TDS cattery, described my problem th them. Lana answered me all my questions, despite the fact that this does not apply to her cattery or relatedto her cats. I was asking many questions, did not count on participation, but nevertheless I did it, because there were different, strange and temporary exciting situations, and in the end, Lana was very helpful during the period kitten handling. There were some difficulties with kitten's treatment, and after Lana's recommendation everything returned to normal. She helped us sort out our problem. Only thanks to Lana's advice and knowledge. Now he is the best and most active cat I have met. I doubt very much that this would be the case . I just want to thank Lana immensely for her help and humanity. This is how she reacted to a stranger, I wasn't even a buyer, she found time and helped to act correctly.
During the communication, Lana showed her pets of different ages - all the attention in ideal conditions, care and everyone is healthy, active and convinced in compliance with all the requirements of the nursery. Her cats live with her in the house and not in cages, she mandatory nutrition according to age. Lana, thanks! If someone wants a Scottish cat, you should look for only in this cattery.

While researching catteries i came across this one which i found to be the most dishonest. I wanted to share my experience so maybe i could help others who may not know the right questions to ask. The owner writes long messages like a used car sales man to convince you of blatant lies.

First issue i asked her to confirm was her HCM testing she said she did on her website. She does not do hcm testing and could provide not 1 echocardiogram.

Second lie was that the cats are tested and have no risk for ocd the bone disease Scottish folds get. She showed no X-rays to even show she prevents the disease that ALL Scottish fold cats have a risk for:

Third was she said her cats have bright green eyes. Even with her photoshop, you can see they are yellow not green.
