We are a small business in Northern QLD have been in business for over 20+ years. And we were approached by our local Local Search representative, to see if we would consider advertising with them. We had dealings with Local Search many years previously and it didn't end well, but you know things change and give them the benefit of the doubt ... right?
So we decided to try one of the ad strategies, which can I say the start up process was not at all smooth. Details I would like to go into but not sure how much time or space Google will allow 🙂 After paying for 1.5 months the ad was not even published yet. I asked to cancel the entire deal but was told unfortunately we had signed the agreement and had to stay for 6 months before we could change or cancel. I was also promised a full and comprehensive report every month with the progress of our ads and exactly where our money was going. It is now 8 months and we have had 1 very not helpful report which was via email and I had to ask for it. The report basically said how many clicks and how many people had been shown the ad. That was it, my very detailed and comprehensive report. I doubt if we will ever consider anything but a Free listing in Local Search for the rest of our business lives. I just hope this helps save other business some hard earned money because business is hard, without these questionable so called business partners. Who frankly are only after your money for very little return. This has been our not so great experience.
