Park the car and walk up to the gorgeous lookout and then after walking back down take a walk along the boardwalk on the lake, which runs all the way into town and on through to shaving point. Return from shaving point is 5km total round trip.

Beautiful views and without a doubt one of the best views while walking in East Gippsland.

Toilets at Chinamans Creek, the Yacht club, in the Metung village and at shaving point.

Great spot to walk along the boardwalk into town all the way to Shaving Point. Enjoy the views out over the water and stop at one of the cafes in town for coffee and cakes. The walk is about 5.5 kms return and is on flat ground. Dog friendly on lead, poo bag dispensers and bins along the way. Well worth a visit.

Nice little drive and walk along the boardwalk. The Chinese people settled in Metung in the mid 1870's as market gardeners and fishermen.

Chinaman's Creek opens into Gippsland Lakes Bancroft Bay at Metung. Named Chinaman's Creek because the Chinese community grew vegetables here to supply food to the Omeo Goldfields in the 1800's. A sheltered port with a jetty, there is a boardwalk around the edge of Bancroft Bay into the village of Metung.The boardwalk is lit at night. Well worth the trip.
