This is my feedback with regards to the Certeza’s TTSG training for the Hovermap ST Scanning Device that was conducted from 6th to 29th of July 2022, led by Mr. Ross Turner – Technical Consultant & Trainor of Emesent.

The whole training session was very informative, and the training material was also very interesting, helps the user to be more productive, save effort and cost less. Trainor was very patient and eager to teach us everything that we need to know. With his guidance, our confusion on how the device works and its purpose slowly withered each day as we understand the device’s importance and usage in our field of work, the device is almost user-friendly and compact that it can be mounted or installed to a car, drone, and can also be used as a handheld device.

Overall, the training is very good and organized.

On that day, we demonstrated the equipment for TRACTEBEL in the basement of its administrative building to demonstrate how the Emesent Hovermap works without a GPS signal and in closed spaces.

The training for Emesent Hovermap was held last July 26 to 29, 2022 and was led by Mr. Ross Turner. Personally, I had a wonderful experience all throughout the training of the Hovermap ST product. The training proper is well detailed and really tackled my needs regarding the product and usage. I’ve learned more with the product and its function with the guidance of Mr. Ross and he also ensures that we are all capable to use the Hovermap as a handheld device or mounted in a DJI M300 drone. Hoping to have a more interaction and collaboration with Emesent in the future.

2024 Edit:

The Emesent hardware is likely the best SLAM based scanner on the market and we regularly use it in our engineering consulting workflow. I can't imagine performing laser scanning with any other device.

I recently had an issue with the software portion of Emesent. It took a few weeks to get answers which was an issue for me and my firm. We let Emesent know we were unhappy and their response to our engagement is why I will continue to be a proponent of their devices.

Emesent's senior staff and owners took the time to meet with us, owned their internal issues, provided a path to resolution, and provided additional layers of support to ensure we never run into the same issue again.

Everyone makes mistakes once in awhile and the way they manage those mistakes is what defines future success. The way they handled our situation has basically guaranteed we will use their products for years to come.

Edit: Below is my original post about using the hovermap. My post above reflects my opinion based on three years of using their products.

We love our Emesent Hovermap and use it frequently to scan everything from Refineries to homes. Working with Emesent has been a breeze and I would recommend them to anyone in the market for a laser scanner.
