Pros: Wonderful, warm and friendly staff - going the extra mile to make my stay comfortable and memorable. Room itself was clean, well maintained and inoffensively decorated in neutral tones. Body lotion available on request. Lovely views of the water and cruise ships. Breakfast was excellent with a decent variety of hot and cold options. Good coffee from the machine which is always a plus. Easy parking right in front and walking distance to shops, restaurants etc. Room service available.

Cons: no gym, pool and spa still closed. Lots of renovation works underway with loud intermittent drilling - fortunately I was away most of the day. Slow lifts (seems to be common here on the south coast!). Wifi dropped intermittently.

Overall I would definitely stay here again if they reopened the gym and pool. Otherwise its not a bad stay but definitely a solid 3* rather than 4* hotel without the gym and pool.

Perfect location for the cruise terminal, staff were very helpful.

Ate in the restaurant which was good, but didn't think much of the Starbucks coffee served at the bar.

Breakfast was very good there was just about everything catered for, the coffee from the self serve machine was pretty good too.

Rooms were large and plenty of sockets, I did like the USB chargers built in everywhere.

Bed was comfy so I got a good nights sleep, However the duvet was too small for the cover. The shower was good but the shower door was a little awkward.

Plenty of parking around the back and our room had a view of our ship when docked.

Overall a good place to stay for cruise terminal convenience, but the hotel is looking shabby in a few places.

Perfectly positioned for what we needed. A really great hotel and great value for our weekend trip. Staff were especially friendly and helpful, especially Simmi. Room was nicely furnished and although compact was well appointed and had plenty of luggage space. Breakfasts were delicious too, good range and freshly prepared. Just worth checking whether there are any cruise departures as reception can be rammed in the mornings as people await their departure slots, only a problem if you are checking out or trying to use the lifts.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn , Southampton before the start of our cruise. It was close to the Horizon terminal where we boarded our ship, so it was very convenient. Two outstanding staff deserves mention- Karl who manned the check in area and Chin , the server in the hotel’s restaurant and was also responsible for cleaning the tables. Karl was very helpful sorting out problems in our room and Chin was very pleasant and helpful answering our questions related to the restaurant. Another person Joseph who also worked in the restaurant was also very informative with our questions. I would highly recommend this hotel for its proximity to the terminal, the Old Fort , the West Quay shopping center and the helpful staff.

We have very much enjoyed our one night stay. We have been before and it's still as good now as it was a couple of years back. The food has been good, especially the buffet breakfast which was managed by Anthony. We are doing the cruise & stay, which includes taxis to and from the port so I think this is very good value for money. ||It's probably worth noting that the hotel is in the early stages of a major refurbishment but it had no impact on our stay but it might have as it progresses.||I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff which have been so welcoming and attentative, nothing was too much trouble.||Wishing you every success for 2025 and I will hopefully see you next cruise early 2026

We stayed here for 3 nights before our cruise. I had read good things about this hotel, but was I disappointed. Not only was it during the Boat Show and despite asking for a quiet room months ahead of our stay, we were placed closest to the band/dance area which was extremely loud for 2 of the 3 nights. In addition, the first night that I was there, an employee entered the elevator with room service before the guests resulting in the door starting to close on my arm. There was no electric eye or rubber bumper! It was so forceful that it cut my arm and immediately caused a very large bruise. I reported it to the front desk and showed them my arm again the next day. Not only did I never receive even an apology, they claimed the elevator service company said it was not possible!! When I got home, I contacted IHG in the US and they were very apologetic and asked the hotel to reach out to me. This hotel's response was the same with not even an apology. This is not the type of service that we expect from an IHG hotel - we are long time customers of IHG and would NOT stay here again.

I had a fantastic stay. I was made to feel so very welcome right from the start from check in to dinner to breakfast to check out.
The room was lovely and large and very comfortable with a fantastic view of the ships and ferries coming and going.
I have to pay a special thank you to Simmi who looked after me as I was travelling alone. She was very kind, friendly and professional.
I thoroughly recommend staying here if going on a cruise and to start your day stress free.

Stayed here prior to heading on a cruise, lots of construction works going on but didn’t really cause us any issues. We stayed in one of the recently reduced rooms and barring a couple of teething issues which are being addressed a lovely clean room. Ate in the restaurant majority of the food was good just one issue with a steak cooked incorrectly, Simmi did a great job of rectifying the issue and offering her apologies. Priya on the front desk was also very helpful as was her colleague whose name I don’t catch unfortunately. Overall considering the works a pleasant stay.
