From my experience the sales agent communication is excellent prior to contract signature.

Post contract signature the communication becomes non existent to the point where not insignificant losses were incurred (>$10K) due to not providing updates on settlement, not passing corrections to variations in time to be fixed (months), not providing answers to questions in a timely manner.

I tried all forms of communications and it took more than a month on several occasions for any responses. The agent did not even acknowledge receipt of my communication and let me know he was working on an answer so I was often not even sure he received my communication. I also had to use the generic email address at one stage to get any response back on a query. The response from the generic email was extremely timely and promised a response later that day, which then did not come in from the agent for several days after. I also still have yet to have some information provided to me though promised.

My advice is if you are buying off the plan then consider a different development under a different property agent or make sure that your variations are very well defined form the start and you are not reliant on communication from the sales Agent post contract signature.

I will say that the quality of the property is excellent so potentially this company is careful at selecting good developments to be involved with.

Andy has a bright personality and engenders faith in his ability to give a high standard of honest service. He balances a business approach with friendliness making it very pleasant associating with him. Since selling my house to me in 2011 he has occasionally contacted me to keep in touch. This allowed me to inform him when I decided to sell this year and felt confident he would do an excellent job.

I rented through Lj hooker for 7 years as a tenant. My realestate agent Steph was always easy to deal with and prompt with responding to issues. They offered flexibility and provided plenty of notice when it came too inspections. Steph was very informative and helpful on any advice when it came to my end of lease. I have had bad experiences in the past renting through other real estate agents however renting through Lj hooker civic was great.
