Experience Buying a Property from Ray White Thompson – Agent: Matt Thompson

We recently purchased a property through Ray White Thompson, with Matt Thompson as the selling agent. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. He repeatedly provided misleading information during the sales process.
Regarding the price, he continuously claimed there were higher offers (e.g., $720K, $725K, $730K, and $735K), but it later became clear that these claims were not true and were made simply to pressure us.

He also pushed us to use a solicitor he recommended, who seemed to be closely aligned with him. Sadly, this solicitor also overlooked major issues with the property, including a roof problem. Even though we had obtained an independent inspection report highlighting these issues, both the agent and the solicitor downplayed the concerns.
We are currently in the process of lodging a formal complaint.

Important advice:
If you are considering buying a property through this agency or this agent, please be extremely cautious.
Do not trust claims about other offers or pressure tactics regarding pricing.
After making an offer, request that the property remains open for further inspections so you can see how many people are genuinely interested.
Also, make sure to hire your own independent inspector and solicitor rather than using someone recommended by the agent.
