I bought the EJ-640 on 27 September 2018.
November 2018 the printer was flooded with ink, apparently a damper issue. Solvent ink can cause lots of damage to electronic wires over time if not cleaned up properly. I requested the printer be replaced back in November 2018 but instead Roland decided that they will try to fix the printer and extend the warranty.
Up to date I have had nothing but trouble with this printer, every year something is wrong with it. If it is not damper problems, it is ink lines. If it is not ink lines the printer just decides to drain all the inks, leaving me to pay for all the damages.
Please let me know how Roland justify the above with claims like “best after care support”, “assist when a customer needs help”, “continue to contribute to the growth and success of our customers’ businesses.”
Back in June 2022, the printer decided to drop the Magenta on both heads, today is the 21st of June 2023. This problem has not been resolved and it is one year later.
I have asked Roland numerous times to replace the printer but with no success. All that Roland did was to send me a quote on new printers.
Can I ask the question again: What will Roland do to replace this faulty printer, 4 years down the line and I am sitting with the same faulty printer costing me money. Roland pride themselves on “The quality of their Products” I think it is time for Roland to show that to me. This week the printer drained itself again, the third time in 2023. Roland responded, without seeing the printer, "that the waste bottle must have been full and it overflowed". I have never experienced such poor service from a company.

You went above and beyond to make sure all my problems were solved.

As I'm not very good with technology I usually cause a bit of stress.

I have been using Roland printers and cutters for over 25 years and I would 100% recommend anyone in the market for sign equipment to call them first when deciding on which brand to run in your sign shop. All my machines have been reliable and easy to operate.

I learned a lot of new things that I did not know before, even after reading the manuals and watching online videos, learning to handle Versaworks properly and all the available resources is the most valuable thing, as well as the UV basics (in my case).

I really learned a lot about my printer (LEF2-300) and of the software Versaworks, some things that otherwise I would never consider in the configuration of my printing jobs. Thanks to all the Roland team involved. 😉
